In December 2018, Dansa Fusion Kuala Lumpur participated in a Traditional Dance Competition (Rampaian Dance New Creation) organized by the Malaysian Youth Council (MBM) together with Malaysia Airport Berhad. The competition was held at the Domestic Arrivals Hall, 3rd Floor, KLIA Main Terminal Building from 8 am to 6 pm. Dansa Fusion Kuala Lumpur got the third place as a result of the choreography from Izzie Islam and a total of 10 dancers involved in the competition this time. The following is a list of dancers who have been involved:
Adlan, Syafiq Amri, Ealbie Breandant, Zhafran, Hazim
AnisYahya, Xin Ping, Nina Kadir, Lilys Jah, Carlista
The competition is also accompanied by dance groups in Malaysia such as Nyala Dance Theatre, Legasi Seni, Akar Seni Malaysia, Padat Culture Group, Sanggar Budaya Sri Pengkalan, Rentak Seni, Decade Dance Company, Anak Seni Production, Sencetra and more.
The process to produce the choreography is about a week including in terms of preparation of dance movement, a combination of movement and music as well as training with dancers. In terms of organizing the program, the service provided was satisfactory where we were given information on how the competition took place. During the competition, we have to go through the screening phase first where only a few eligible groups will continue to compete to the finals. When talking about KLIA, there are definitely a lot of people there. So, the response and encouragement from the public was very encouraging and supportive to us as well as the other participants. Therefore, we hope that the organization of such competitions can still be continued and well received by outsiders.
